Here's an odd problem I'm having with the '85 300SD. Recently had the low voltage light come on...out with the multimeter, diagnosed a worn voltage regulator - swapped it in a nice new German KAE, back to 14.2V at idle. Battery tests 12.8 V with the engine off, usual 1A draw from the clock etc.
Now the ABS light comes on (which according to the manual indicates a low voltage situation, although it didn't light up when the regulator failed), and occasionally goes off. I've attempted resetting the ABS computer by 1- disconnecting the battery, and 2- disconnecting the ABS computer, then reconnecting.
Other than electrical tape, any suggestions? Tested the function of the ABS on wet pavement and it's clearly disabled with the light on. Nuts.
Open to suggestions...been digging through various posts here and drawing a blank so far.
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
